What I'm doing
For the last 2+ years, I have been working as a UX Designer on an award-winning design team for the Defense Health Agency - Web & Mobile Technology department where we create digital health & wellness experiences (responsive web, native mobile, PWA) for 8.2 million military service members and their families. I started as a Junior UX Designer, and have since worked my way up to Senior UX Designer and Assistant UX Manager.
My Passions
-
Creating meaningful designs that have beneficial impacts on people's lives.
-
Creating solutions that satisfy both user and business needs
-
Communicating complex design issues by translating user problems into language that others understand.
-
Advocating for the UX process and the beneficial impact it can have on a product or business
-
Challenging the design process and taking actions that stimulate innovation
-
Encouraging cross-departmental collaboration
My Hobbies
-
I love riding my bicycle and would eventually LOVE to work in an office that allows me to ride my bike to work.
-
I love watching movies of all genres. Oftentimes, my ideal "friends night" is having everyone over to watch a movie in our pajamas. RIght now, one of my favorite production companies is A24.
-
I love playing the piano, but am not as good as I like to think I am. I've been playing on and off for about 17 years and have a particular appreciation for jazz piano.
-
I'm almost always listening to music and enjoy attending live performances over the weekends!
-
Keeping a saltwater aquarium. I am a huge coral fanatic, and at one time had over 40 different species of coral.
